"Disconnecting" DA-Client does not really Disconnect

Hi all, just set up DA on 2012R2, no VPN, working nicely so far, Win8.1 Clients.

Noticed though that if I on a Client click the DA-Connection and Select "Disconnect", the status "Connected" disappears on the Client, but I can still Access all internal resources, file, print, RDP... (This one was New to me, usually som struggle getting DA-clients Connect)

Hi Ray - the disconnect option only works for VPN- if you run the PowerShell command below (replacing Computer-Name with the real Computer name) this will immediately disconnect the DA Client which is useful if a client has been compromised as well

Get-NetIPsecMainModeSA | where {$_.RemoteFirstId.Identity like *Computer-Name*} | Remove-NetIPsecMainModeSA

hello ray,

there is entry made on the registry which leads you to access the resource. So you want to totally disconnect with the Direct Access, then you have to remove the settings from Registry. If you wana know the path of registry let me know, i will provide you the path.

thanks
